Mehta Foundation, IITM & IITG Partner to Host Two Major CARE Conferences
The Bhupat & Jyoti Mehta Family Foundation (MFF) has announced an exciting initiative to host two significant Collaboration for Academic and Research Excellence (CARE) Conferences in partnership with the Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) Madras and Guwahati. These conferences are set to enhance India’s higher education and research ecosystem through interdisciplinary collaboration.
Conference Details
The first of the two conferences will take place at IIT Madras from December 4–6, 2025. The theme for this conference is “Molecules to Medicine: Bioengineering for One Health.” This event aims to bring together leading scientists and engineers from around the globe to explore advancements in various fields related to bioengineering. The core topics of discussion will include:
- Disease Biology
- Structural Biology
- Systems Biology
- Interventional Biology
- Translational Biology
These topics will cover the journey from fundamental discoveries to therapeutic applications, showcasing the importance of collaboration in addressing complex health challenges.
Following the IIT Madras conference, the second CARE Conference will be hosted at IIT Guwahati from December 8–10, 2025. This conference will focus on “Foundations and Frontiers of Data Science and AI.” Key themes for discussion will include:
- Foundations of Data Science and AI
- Generative AI and Emerging Technologies
- AI for Society and Sustainability
The emphasis will be on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics (FATE) in the context of India, making this conference particularly relevant for local researchers and practitioners.
Global Participation
Both conferences will feature esteemed global experts from various countries, including the USA, Germany, Japan, Australia, and Ireland. Additionally, researchers from India’s leading institutions, such as IITs, IISc, IISERs, and TIFRs, will participate to share their cutting-edge research and foster collaborative pathways that advance science and technology.
Expanding Academic Partnerships
These conferences represent an expansion of the Mehta Foundation’s academic partnerships, which now encompass eight schools and centers across six IITs. The focus areas range from biosciences and biomedical engineering to data science, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. This broad scope underscores the Foundation’s commitment to enhancing research capabilities in India.
Vision for Collaboration
Mr. Rahul Mehta, the Founder of the Mehta Family Foundation, emphasized the importance of collaboration in addressing today’s complex problems. He stated, “Any problem worth solving today requires the collaboration of multiple people, disciplines, and institutions. It cannot be tackled by a single individual.” This philosophy is at the heart of the CARE Conferences, which aim to provide a platform for researchers to share ideas, collaborate on specific topics, and address real challenges.
Mr. Mehta further noted, “With the aim of transforming research into impactful innovations at both national and global scales, CARE Conferences provide the ideal platform for young researchers to not only absorb knowledge but also showcase their work and engage directly with leading collaborators in their fields.”
Conclusion
The upcoming CARE Conferences at IIT Madras and IIT Guwahati mark a significant step forward in fostering collaboration among researchers and institutions. By bringing together experts from various disciplines, these events will contribute to advancing knowledge and innovation in critical areas of health and technology.
