JD Institute of Fashion Technology Marks 20th Annual Design Awards in Guwahati

The Theme: “Last Invention”
This year’s awards ceremony centered around the thought-provoking theme “Last Invention,” which encouraged students to envision a future shaped by a transformative breakthrough. Judging Panel and Their Insights
The judging panel comprised esteemed professionals from various fields, including architect Ritul Sharma, managing director Rupal Dalal, director Harsh Dalal, and the institute’s centre directors. Each judge provided valuable insights into the projects presented:
- Ritul Sharma: Praised the interior design students for their innovative approaches to sustainability, highlighting projects such as mushroom-based acoustic panels and lemongrass lamps designed to act as natural insect repellents.
- Rupal Dalal: Commended the Fashion and Jewellery students for their bold and imaginative ideas, including a fragrance-infused fabric collection that enhances its scent with each wash.
- Harsh Dalal: Noted a jewellery collection crafted from broken tiles, transforming discarded materials into wearable art, showcasing the students’ ability to think outside the box.
Recognition of Student Achievements

- Fashion Design (B.Voc 3rd Year): Awarded to “The Earth Bound Essence” by Harshita Das and Dipshika Bharali.
- Advanced Diploma 2nd Year: Riter Doke received the prize for the collection “Mighty Architectonic.”
- Interior Design: The Best Design Award was presented to Sushilia Sonam for her product “Eco Aura.”
