GATE 2026 Exam Centres: Check the Zone-wise Complete List of Exam Cities

The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an important examination for students aspiring to pursue higher studies in engineering, technology, and science. The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG) has released the GATE 2026 exam centres list along with the official information brochure. This year, GATE 2026 will be conducted in over 230 cities across India.

Overview of GATE 2026

The GATE 2026 examination is being organized by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and all IITs, under the guidance of the National Coordination Board (NCB), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. Candidates who successfully qualify the GATE exam can gain admission to Master’s programs, Direct Doctoral programs, and Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture, and Humanities in institutions supported by the MoE and other government agencies. Additionally, several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) utilize GATE scores for recruitment purposes.

Important Dates for GATE 2026

The GATE 2026 examination is scheduled to take place on:

Choosing GATE 2026 Exam Centres

Candidates can select three cities from the provided list of examination cities. All three choices must be from the same GATE 2026 zone. If a candidate selects a specific city as their first choice, the second and third choices must also be from that zone. It is important to note that the GATE Committee reserves the right to add or remove cities and may assign a city that is not among the selected choices.
