IIT Patna Wins Acsia Hackathon 2025 for AI-Powered Copilot Project
Thiruvananthapuram, November 5, 2025 – The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna has emerged as the winner of the Acsia Hackathon 2025, a prestigious 24-hour national innovation challenge organized by Acsia Technologies. This event took place at the Technopark Phase III campus in Thiruvananthapuram and brought together some of the brightest young minds from across India to design innovative AI and machine learning solutions for the future of mobility.

The Acsia Hackathon attracted over 300 registrations from 92 premier educational institutions, including five IITs. After rigorous rounds of selection, 14 finalist teams, comprising 24 students, competed in the final round. Winning Project
The first prize was awarded to Adhithyan V. P. from IIT Patna for his groundbreaking project, an AI-powered copilot. - Second Prize: Sridharan S. from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Chennai, for SmartCockpit AI – a generative in-car assistant that personalizes comfort, infotainment, and safety in real time.
- Third Prize: Glenn Mathews and Nandana Murali from Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, for MatchMakerAI, a generative AI-based project staffing assistant that forms optimal, cost-aware teams with explainable insights.
- Special Jury Mention: Ezhil Srikanth M. and Giridhar N. from Chennai Institute of Technology for their AI-driven team formation solution, Wizard AI.
Valedictory Address
During the valedictory ceremony, Dr. Achuthsankar S. Nair, a retired professor and former Director of CDIT, Government of Kerala, delivered an inspiring address. He emphasized the importance of innovation, stating:
“Innovation is not something we import – it’s innate. The ability to look at a problem and find a simple, practical solution is where true creativity lies. That’s why they often call it jugaad – an instinctive, frugal way of thinking that turns constraints into opportunities.”
Judges and Ceremony Highlights
The ceremony was attended by notable figures including Dr. Rajasree M. S., CEO of TrEST Research Park, and Professor Asharaf S., Dean (Academic) of Digital University Kerala, who served as judges and announced the winners. Other prominent attendees included Mr. Deepu S. Nath, Managing Director of FAYA, Mr. Anil S, VP – Engineering at Acsia Technologies, and Mr. Rejeesh R, VP – New Initiatives at Acsia Technologies.
The winners received cash prizes of ₹50,000, ₹25,000, and ₹15,000 respectively, along with various goodies from Acsia. All participants were awarded certificates and gift hampers for their efforts.
